Return and Refund Policy

butik.meksta.se complies with Swedish and EU consumer law, including the rules on distance contracts and consumer sales, as well as Klarna's e-commerce guidelines. We want you to feel confident about every purchase you make with us. Below we explain our policy on returns, refunds and cancellations in a clear and consumer-friendly way.
Right of Withdrawal (14-Day Returns)
As a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods. You do not need to give any reason for exercising this right of withdrawal. The withdrawal period starts the day after you receive your order.

Condition of the item: For the right of withdrawal to apply, the item must be returned in essentially unchanged condition. You are entitled to carefully open the packaging and examine the item, but if the item has been used more than necessary to check its function and characteristics, we may deduct an amount for any loss in value from your refund. If the item is damaged or impaired due to handling beyond a normal examination, the right of withdrawal may be lost in whole or in part.

Exceptions: The right of withdrawal does not apply to items made to your specifications or clearly personalized for you. Nor does it apply to sealed items that cannot be returned for health or hygiene reasons once the seal has been broken. (Example: custom-ground camshafts and other made-to-order engine parts manufactured specifically for you.) These exceptions follow Swedish and EU distance selling rules.
If you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal, you must notify us within the 14-day period. You then have a further 14 days to send the item back to us. You will find more information on how to proceed under How to Make a Return below.
How to Make a Return
Making a return with us is easy. Follow the steps below to return a product after withdrawing from a purchase, or to exchange an item:

Contact us within 14 days: Send an email to our customer service at butik@meksta.se and let us know that you want to return your item. Include your order number, which items you want to return and, if possible, a short description of the matter (for example whether you would like an exchange or a refund). You may also use the standard EU/Swedish model withdrawal form if you prefer, but a simple email works fine.

Wait for confirmation: We will confirm your return request as soon as possible (usually within 1-2 business days). The confirmation will include any further instructions. (Please note that for a claim concerning a defective or incorrect item, we may include a prepaid shipping label; see the section Claims.)

Pack the item: Place the item you are returning in its original packaging if possible, together with any accessories, manuals and, where available, the order confirmation or delivery note. Make sure to package it well so that the item is not damaged in transit.

Send the item back: As the customer, you are responsible for sending the return to us. Address the parcel to our return address (see below). We recommend that you send the parcel with trackable shipping and keep the drop-off receipt, as you are responsible for the item until it reaches us. Return shipping is paid by you as the customer when you withdraw from a purchase (we do not currently offer free return shipping unless otherwise stated).

Receipt and inspection: Once we have received your return, we will inspect the item. Provided everything is in order under these terms (the item is in essentially unchanged condition, etc.), we will approve the return. If anything is unclear, we will contact you to resolve it.

Refund/exchange: After an approved return, we will issue your refund or send any exchange item, as you prefer. (Read more under Refunds below about how refunds are handled.)
Please note: If the item is not returned in acceptable condition, or if the return is made without contacting us first within the withdrawal period, the return may be refused or a deduction for loss in value may be made from the refund. We reserve the right to refuse a return that does not meet our return conditions.
Refunds
Once your return has been received and approved by us at Meksta, we will initiate a refund. This is how the refund process works:

Refund to the original payment method: We refund the amount for the item(s) to the payment method used at the time of purchase. This includes the product price and any original shipping cost if the entire order is returned. (If you return only part of your order, we refund the cost of the returned items, but not the original shipping fee.)

Timeframe: The refund is made as soon as possible and no later than 14 days from the date you notified us that you want to make a return. We normally issue the refund only once we have received the item, or once you can show proof that you have sent it back (whichever happens first). The bank processing itself may take a few extra banking days.

Klarna payments: If you paid via Klarna (e.g. invoice, installments or Klarna Direct), the refund will be handled in cooperation with Klarna. If you have an unpaid invoice with Klarna, the invoice will be adjusted or cancelled for the returned items. If the invoice has already been paid, Klarna will return the corresponding amount to you (to your Klarna account or bank account, depending on the payment method). Klarna will notify you via its app or by email when the refund is complete, and this normally takes 5-7 banking days from when we register the return.

Other payment methods: If you paid by card, Swish or another direct payment method, the refund is made to the same card or account that was used for the purchase. Refund times can vary slightly depending on your bank, but are often 2-5 banking days after we have issued the refund.

Deduction for loss in value: If the item has been handled more than necessary (see Right of Withdrawal above) and this has led to a loss in value, we may make a deduction from the refund amount corresponding to that loss in value. In that case, we will inform you of this and of the reasons for the deduction.

Confirmation: We will send you a confirmation by email once your return has been approved and the refund has been initiated. If you have not received your refund within a reasonable time after our confirmation, please contact us and we will help you look into it.
Claims (Defective or Incorrect Items)
We inspect our products carefully, but if an item you have purchased from us turns out to be defective, damaged or incorrect in any way, you have the right to make a claim. This also applies to transport damage or if we have sent you the wrong item. Under Swedish and EU consumer law, you have the right to claim for an original product defect for up to 3 years from the date of purchase (and a defect that appears within two years of the purchase is presumed to have existed from the start).
How to make a claim with Meksta:

Contact us right away: Email us at butik@meksta.se (or call us if needed on +46 76 324 10 66) as soon as you discover the fault. Include your order number and describe the problem. If possible, please attach photos showing the fault or damage; this makes handling easier and faster.

Wait for instructions: We will get back to you promptly with a confirmation and information about how we will resolve the matter. In most cases, we will send you a prepaid return label or arrange collection of the defective item, at no cost to you.

What we will do: Once the claim has been approved, we will offer a remedy in line with Swedish and EU consumer law. This may mean that you receive a new, fault-free item as a replacement, that we repair the item (where possible), or that we issue a refund if a replacement or repair is not an option. The remedy chosen depends on the nature of the item and the extent of the fault, and is decided in consultation with you as the customer to find the best solution.

Costs: For an approved claim, we cover all costs, including any return shipping, shipping of a replacement item and the like. As the customer, you should not have to pay anything extra in a valid claim case.

Rejected claims: If it turns out that the item is not defective under applicable law (for example, if the fault is due to mishandling, wear and tear, or something else not covered by your statutory claim rights), we will contact you to let you know. In such cases, the matter may be handled as an ordinary withdrawal/return if you still wish to return the item, in which case the withdrawal rules apply (including that you pay for the return shipping). We always try to be fair and to help our customers in the best possible way.
Note: Your statutory right to make a claim does not affect your right of withdrawal. You can always choose to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days, but if the fault is discovered later, or if you keep the item and a fault then appears, you still have the option to make a claim within the timeframes stated above.
Order Cancellation (Cancellation Policy)
Have you placed an order and want to cancel it (call off the purchase) before the item is delivered? We will help you as far as possible:

Contact us immediately: If you want to cancel an order, contact customer service as soon as possible by email at butik@meksta.se or by phone (+46 76 324 10 66). State your order number and that you wish to cancel. Because we aim for fast deliveries, your order may be processed and packed shortly after you place it, so timing is important.

Before the order has shipped: If we receive your cancellation before the item has left our warehouse, we will stop the order. You will receive a confirmation of the cancellation, and we will refund the full amount (including any shipping cost) within a couple of business days using the same payment method you used for the purchase.

After the order has shipped: If your order has already been dispatched (or is about to be dispatched), we are unfortunately unable to stop the delivery. The order will then be delivered as planned. However, you still have the option of exercising your right of withdrawal after receiving it. In that case: accept the parcel and then follow our return instructions (see How to Make a Return above) to return the item within 14 days. We will then refund the amount for the item in accordance with our return policy. Please note that in this case the return shipping cost is paid by you as the customer, in accordance with the withdrawal rules.

Custom orders: If your order concerns a made-to-order item or a service that has been started at your request (for example a custom-ground camshaft, an engine part reconditioning or another custom-made component), the option to cancel may be limited. If we have already started the work or production, cancellation cannot be guaranteed free of charge. Please contact us directly in such cases, and we will see what we can do. We also follow applicable law for services, which may mean that if you have consented to the service starting during the withdrawal period, your right of withdrawal may be limited. If so, we will clearly inform you in advance.
In short, we will always try to help you with a cancellation where possible. But to minimize the risk of costs and inconvenience, please be quick to notify us.
Uncollected Parcels / Shipments Not Picked Up
Shipments sent to a pickup point that are not collected within the holding period are sent back to us as uncollected parcels. Please note the following regarding uncollected parcels:

No automatic withdrawal: Not collecting a parcel does not count as exercising your right of withdrawal. You must notify us that you are withdrawing from the purchase, and then collect the parcel, in order to return the item in accordance with our procedures.

Fee for uncollected parcels: For parcels that are not collected and are returned to us, we reserve the right to charge you a fee. This fee is currently SEK 200 and is intended to cover our costs for shipping (both ways) and handling of the uncollected parcel. If you paid for your order in advance (or via Klarna), we will deduct this fee from the amount we refund. If you have not yet paid (e.g. invoice), the fee may be invoiced separately.

Refund of the remaining amount: When we have received an uncollected parcel back, we will contact you. If you no longer want the item, we will treat it as a return/withdrawn purchase. We will then refund the order value minus the fee above (provided the product and packaging are undamaged). The refund is made in the same way as for an ordinary return.

How to avoid the fee: To avoid an unnecessary cost, always collect your parcel, even if you have changed your mind about the purchase. You can then return the item in accordance with our return policy. That way you get the full amount back (including the product value and any shipping, per these terms), instead of having to pay the fee for an uncollected parcel.
